Brainstorming is an excellent way of developing many creative solutions to a problem. It works by focusing on a problem, and then coming up with a lot of radical solutions to it. Ideas should deliberately be as broad and odd as possible, and should be developed as fast as possible. This kind of process is designed to help you break out of your thinking patterns into new ways of looking at things.

It is important to know that group brainstorming can have better results that brainstorming on your own. When individual members reach their limit on an idea, another member's creativity and experience can take the idea to the next stage.

Of course, ideas should only be evaluated once the brainstorming session has finished - you can then explore solutions. And it's only then when you can say that you have come to a result.
